How might we make our town more accessible?
This pilot project invited Cochrane youth (ages 12-15) to use their capacity for creativity and empathy to help design + build solutions to make Cochrane more accessible.
The youth were led through a human-centered design process that fostered empathy-building, idea creation + prototyping, and implementing a tangible solution to help others.
The new team of Make Good Designers listened to and interviewed a person with lived experience and spent time using mobility aids to understand the needs of people with limited mobility.
Participants then designed and built portable accessibility ramps for a local business (The Shoe Closet) and the Town's ClubHouse, among other creative prototypes.
